Because FIDE follows IOC's rules which recognize chess as a sport, this will probably mean a blanket ban from chess for trans women.

Will FIDE go as far as introducing sex tests in chess to also ban intersex women?

I doubt I'll be able to defend my Women's French Chess Champion title next year...
The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

I don't think I've ever been that happy about a city election result, and I'm a Parisian.

Zohran is a worldwide inspiration.

Yesterday might have been the most important day of my life, as I got my vaginoplasty.

I would have been the happiest ever if not for Naroditsky's tragic death.

As I lay in my hospital bed, morphine in my veins, I can't help but think of him.

it's worth noting that he's the most vocally pro-trans party leader in the UK as well
On the day Zack Polanski announced his leadership campaign, the Green Party had 60,000 members.

They now have 128,000 - an increase of 113%.

He doubled the membership in just 5 months.

Anyway, I should stop playing so that if I die during my upcoming surgery, this will be my legacy.

1. As some Democrats have run from transgender rights, Zohran Mamdani is showing what so many others have lacked: courage to lead with his values over pandering to focus groups.

The ad is one of the best things I've seen from a politician on transgender people.

"Despite women making up 51% of the global population, only about 19% of biographies on English language Wikipedia are about women"

That made me wonder how many trans people have a Wikipedia page:

~0.042%, an order of magnitude lower than in the overall population

I've played a few games with a talented 6-year-old girl in a chess bar in Lille.

Her parents posted one of the games on Instagram, where people criticize the child for bad etiquette?!

Guys, she's 6, we are having fun. WTF?

Leftist politicians from all over the world should take Zohran as an example.

Injustice to one is injustice to all, and, in 2025, fighting against injustice should start by protecting trans people.

I feel so grateful and inspired by him even though I never went to New York. 🙏
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Robert Badinter was a kind, wise, and inspiring man.

He abolished the death penalty and decriminalized homosexuality.

Thanks to him, Coccinelle, an openly trans star, was able to marry in 1962.

Today, he enters the Panthéon.

(And, sadly, his wife, still alive, is an anti-trans activist)

« Le fascisme ne se lève pas comme la tempête en une nuit. Il est d’abord rampant, dissimulé, ordinaire. Il progresse par les voix de la haine, avivée par les difficultés économiques. Il s’empare des cœurs avant de pervertir les esprits puis de prendre le pouvoir. »
À méditer☝️.

I'm deeply hurt. She was one of the most inspirational people.
Without her, the world has less empathy, kindness, and goodwill, all of which we really need right now.
Jane Goodall was my first childhood hero, as I loved animals as a kid and was inspired by her story. I still remember the National Geographic specials about her. RIP.
