Do I wish I'd passed my comprehensive on comparative (my comp comp)? Yeah, but I'm happy with my data skills from methods courses I've been able to turn into a career outside the academy.
When I chose to study politics for a living I had no idea that politics would get this dumb.

When I joined the army, I did 9 weeks of basic training, then 5 more weeks of job training to serve in an dumb MOS that had one task (fire artillery shells) and only required you to meet the minimum ASVAB standard (35th percentile). I'm pretty sure most normal police academies are 6 months. WTF

Been in one bar brawl that was mostly this, three seconds long, no punches connected, half the yapping guy's friends didn't do shit. We won, which was only because me and another guy had just gotten back from our deployment and reacted, but we still looked stupid as hell. No one got laid.
I get the sense that a staggeringly high percentage of guys who earnestly say with some regularity “fuck around and find out” simply do not understand that the real life versions of the street or bar fight they are picturing typically last a few seconds, don’t have defined winners, and look stupid
