Alberta's UCP Convention is a depressingly stupid spectacle; it is equally pathetic how RW media has gleefully pumped their hillbilly stupidity across the nation, and is astounding just how many illiterate, history denying/revising nitwits there are in the fold. Mud dumb stupid and SO PROUD OF IT.

Below is a table from my chapter with R. Mendoza. How many conditions do you spot?

A pipeline in every direction wouldn't satisfy Alberta's extremists. It's never been about a pipeline, otherwise Notley and Trudeau would have been applauded. Dig a little deeper and it's about greed, guns, and hate.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

From the DM’s…

As if Smith recalling her own recall legislation wasn’t bad enough…

Apparently she’s also moving forward with LEGISLATION to ban the word “progressive” from political party names.

Like, banning the word.

Shane Getson openly lied in the Legislature this week.

He said on multiple occasions that the Supreme Court of Canada had said that possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials is "OK".

The Supreme Court said no such thing.

Spoke to a room of lawyers and judges tonight. Told them: when many Albertans picture the UCP base, they picture you.

They were shocked — most of them oppose the democratic backsliding.

I reminded them: as long as they stay silent, that perception will stick.

All pluralists need to speak out.

The UCP has abandoned conservatism. Not just Lougheed's brand. Klein's brand, too.

The party lost its grip years ago.

It's time for conservatives in this province to speak up about it.

The use of the Notwithstanding Clause is out of control. It’s up to voters to stop it
The architects of Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms thought the Notwithstanding Clause would only be used in exceptional circumstances. Conservative premiers seem determined to prove them wrong.
