Just to be clear because it apparently confused some people, I think what Gavin Newsom is doing on Twitter is great. I just think the conclusion from it should be “all/more Democrats should be doing that,” not “this soulless, transphobic opportunist deserves to be president now.”

To add to this, never say something like "I think I need a lawyer" or anything like that. Be declarative. "I am exercising my right to an attorney" "I wont speak to you until I speak to a lawyer" Any opportunity to ignore what you just said (Ie: the word "think") they'll take to keep going with you.
There is a DISTURBING amount of people who don't know that the police can lie to you and it's legal and the Supreme Court upheld that shit.
