Mexican Gothic Lace Palette Trio

This month I wanted to draw some lace and my patrons voted on the theme and color palette. For this set I imagined book covers or movie posters to stories that don't exist

In my store now for $20 and $2 shipping world wide

and now I have done my requisite cleaning, which means the rest of my day can be filled with making a pizza dough! and a drink. And some videogame time and a little sewing

ahhhhhhhh! okay, the ending was perfect

this is a book with very imperfect characters, and a lot of them, and a lot of complexity
and there are two timelines, with hop-skipping around those timelines.
am I finishing this audiobook purely by telling myself that once it's finished, I can listen to fun stuff? yes

(the book is.....interesting? It is a mystery, and I am very invested in this mystery. And the characters are complex but there was a swerve that happened an hour ago that i am

This was brought up on a @pankraru.bsky.social stream. Starting and being bad at art is the hardest step, full stop. Knowing what you want to draw but struggling with stick figures is daunting and discouraging. But you cant skip it.
You can make art.

The biggest step isn't getting good at art, it's being willing to make art that doesn't match the idea of "good art" in your head.

Making a lot of imperfect art is an essential step toward making perfect art; a counterproductive goal you shouldn't have anyway.

Just make art.

I need to scan this in properly, but I’m real pleased with this little watercolor study I did today 👉👈 I got Nita Engels’ book “How to Make a Watercolor Paint Itself” and it’s been really helpful in figuring out some landscape techniques ☺️

I have never played any Assassin's Creed game ever (is there a Best One? is there one I, a person very bad at games and prone to getting stuck in doors and hopelessly lost without maps: should play?)

but DAMN, if they do not have really good soundtracks

This is the version of the post that everyone needs to see. And all you readers/authors despairing of non-comprehension, etc, we are gaining new fans of fantasy and SF. It might not be the fantasy or SF you personally read, but they're reading and buying where they weren't before.
It hits different reading this whole thread.

-I weeded through my podcast app and found new-old stuff to listen to!
-today is the day I'm scheduled to hide away from people and just do computer work, and I am STOKED. People were a lot yesterday; this is a nice break
