Folks have been telling me they’ve noticed I’ve gotten “a lot more political” on social media this year.

Of course I have.

The circumstances have gotten nightmarishly worse, and the consequences of inaction and staying silent infinitely more obvious.

Everyone needs to get “a lot more political.”

Despite the lack of a planet-warming El Niño event this year, 2025 has been the 2nd-warmest year on record for the year-to-date period, and is on track to end up as the 2nd- or 3rd-warmest year on record, behind only the El Niño-warmed years of 2024 and 2023:
October 2025 was the planet's third-warmest October on record » Yale Climate Connections

Yes, this is correct. And the reason is because our capitalist classes have decided that it is not sufficiently profitable, so they're not going to do it.

We must understand this reality. Capital *cannot* be relied upon to address the climate crisis.

Given these odds it would be 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 for local and national governments not to urgently act on adaptation plans to mitigate against the risks associated with crossing 2ºC

There is absolutely not a day to lose.

Also do you have a personal resilience plan?

We're told one of these land uses is 'productive', while the other is not.

But in terms of photosynthetic levels, as well as the production of clean air, water, no flooding, a stable climate, etc, etc, the natural ecosystem wins hands down.

As for biodiversity, let's not even go there.
