We flounced out of the EU on the say-so of politicians who lied to us. And what a total shitshow that’s turned out to be. The polar opposite of what they promised. Now the call to flounce out of the ECHR. By the same people. Telling the same lies. Has the country been kicked in the head by a horse?

Unpopular opinion:
1)What is happening in America is hugely concerning.
2) It is in both Britain‘s and Europe's interest to work closely together.
3) Neither Brits nor Europeans can afford to openly break with the US right now.
4) Making the most of that impossible situation is very hard.

Bear with me, I anticipate your disagreement. There is a clear pattern to the advice given to those who want to press back against rising racism. What it boils down to is that if you point out that racism is often being dressed up as “legitimate concerns” you will alienate people. /1

The open goal that is an unashamedly positive case for immigration and a cure all against the bad faith grifters, but sure let’s keep pandering to them probably work out fine
I need you lads to understand that Europe has an average birth rate of about 1.4

No charismatic politician bothered to tell you how fucked that makes us.
But as we get older, we need more care, more GP appointments…

Without immigration we will have no pensions very quick.

This was always going to happen because segregating sport by sex has always made complete sense in competition. The trouble is so many people got both biological fact and legal advice very, very wrong and abused and bullied anyone who dared to point it out..

These are *all* things the US could do unilaterally: recognition of territories, commitment not to admit Ukraine to NATO, sanctions lifting, and economic normalisation. Zelensky isn't the barrier. Huge implications for Europe if US moves this forward unilaterally

NEW: Big moment unfolding at the Supreme Court in the history of trans rights in the UK. They’ve ruled unanimously that sex and woman definitions in Equality Act 2010 refer to biological women only.

US deports hundreds of Venezuelans "despite" court order.

Meaning, of course: "in breach of".

On the face of it, it looks like there is now a full constitutional crisis in United States, in that the executive is now freely ignoring court orders.

Crisis point reached.

Their arrival comes less than 24 hours after a federal judge blocked a law Trump planned to use for the deportations.
