Single-Stair Sickos might like to learn that a lot of European cities used to produce detailed books on their built environment, including complete floor plans.

Here's a snippet from Hamburg und Seine Bauten (1914)

“Could have” technically but not politically. The conservative Union parties decided to phase out nuclear much sooner than coal, to continue buying Russian gas, to reduce solar subsidies, and to not build enough wind turbines in Bavaria.
I often read on social media that Germany just replaced nuclear with coal.

That is evidently not the case.

Coal generation is down by more than 60% over last decade with nuclear now gone.

However, Germany could have phased out coal by now if it had kept nuclear generation going at 2011 levels.

MY FELLOW AMERICANS: Watch how modular in-street recycling/trash collection works. Common across Europe, it is a great solution for urban areas.

This new map based on @theNYHC data makes it clear: it’s too easy to block affordable housing in wide swaths of the city.

If you agree every neighborhood needs to do its part in solving our citywide housing crisis, vote YES on Props 2-5.

An elevator speech about...

"Don't you just hate housing prices these days? Part of why housing is more expensive in the U.S. is elevators! Our elevators are 2 to 4 times as expensive as European elevators, as ours are really big and non-standardized. That means less and more expensive housing."

This is great news. I hope FDNY can find a way to allow more batteries for solar backup as well.
The FDNY abruptly changed its policy to allow businesses wishing to install e-bike battery charging cabinets to use a not-yet-federally approved testing standard after Streetsblog revealed that companies were unable to comply with FDNY's new regulations, halting construction.

The FDNY changed its guidelines in the middle of a City Council hearing where it faced questions about delays to the program.

You could almost build this floor plan in New York. Just need a bigger elevator and scissor stairs that aren’t open like the stairs here

When thieves climbed to a second-floor window of the Louvre, grabbed jewels of staggering worth and descended to their getaway scooters, many in France were stunned and furious. But the German company that made the elevator saw a once-in-a-lifetime marketing opportunity. Read more: nyti.ms/477z9Lm
