There are theories that our universe is just one of many. In some of these theories, those universes are not dissimilar to our own and there may be millions of each of spread out over the multiversal cosmos.

In none of those universes is Johnny Cash "uncool". Not even a little.

My wife has been fighting Stage 4 pancreatic cancer for almost a year. Another relative had breast cancer which came back on her brain. She's still going strong.

I am from the old internet generation that had ogrish and rotten dot com, so I thought I was pretty desensitized to graphic atrocity. But I cannot get that video from yesterday out of my head.
It’s because he was a familiar face, the horror of seeing someone you “know” die that way.

I know it’s not his fault and there are more legit reasons to despise him but it is physically painful for me to listen to him speak.
I am always astounded by how fucking awful RFK Jr sounds. He legit sounds worse than Biden or Trump which have a decade on him.

This is so sad. In abduction cases you want to believe the perpetrators were just desperate to be parents and would care for, raise and love the child they stole.

A must-read piece from @wvesquiress.bsky.social up at @ordinarytimes.bsky.social that gets real personal about a subject most folks don't want to talk about, but far too many have to live through

What's a grown child to do with their aging, non-compliant parents?

Parenting Unparentable Parents - Ordinary Times
What does one do about elderly parents, still very much mentally and physically competent, who won't take care of themselves or their home?

Great read
Got a little personal today over @ordinarytimes.bsky.social about dealing with aging and maddeningly stubborn parents who refuse to take care of themselves.
From @wvesquiress.bsky.social "Like Alicia Witt, I don’t see legal recourse as a viable avenue to help. But my parents aren’t retired New England educators, like hers; my dad is a heavily armed redneck. There would be no peaceful removal of him from his home. And where would they even go?"

Yep. I’ve said this many times. It’s the motivation behind “welfare reform” advocates, anti-student loan forgiveness, even derision of GLP-1s for weight loss.
Americans are obsessed with the idea that someone, somewhere, is getting away with something.
Neither libs nor leftists have a perfectly compelling pitch to the average voter because we want the needy to have nice things even if it means a few assholes who don’t deserve it get something. Voters *loathe* the idea of the undeserving getting anything.

When Amy Coney Barrett was up for confirmation, @wvesquiress.bsky.social did a four part series @ordinarytimes.bsky.social deep diving the future SCOTUS justice's legal worldview, writings, & rulings.

So Em is perfect person to check in with now that MAGA is big mad at her for ruling against Trump
SCOTUS Does Not Exist to Please You, Especially Amy Coney Barrett - Ordinary Times
Justice Amy Coney Barrett has independent legal judgment, which she exercises accordingly. This, apparently, is a problem for many.

Went to this tonight. If it comes to your area, I highly, HIGHLY recommend it. They do offer mocktails if that’s your preference. This was amazing, especially for a Poe fan like me.

Yes, it's personal. I am 1/4 Ukrainian Jew. But it's also personal because I'm an American and have taken pride my entire life in our how our nation approaches the world. Yes, we've done bad things but they are far outweighed by the good. To see Trump reduce us to another thugocracy is enraging.

The Supreme Court rules that the prosecution violated its obligation to correct false testimony in Richard Glossip's case and sends the case back for a new trial.

Glossip has maintained that he was not involved in the Oklahoma City murder for which he was sentenced to death.

They do not, in fact, work for Trump.
They work for the public.
Public servants, not Trump’s servants.
Duffy: "This whole movement is potentially gonna make people go, 'I'm gonna come to work earlier. I'm gonna stay later. I'm gonna look at what Donald Trump wants me to accomplish because he won the election, and I'm gonna fight and work to make sure I help him accomplish that ... I work for POTUS.'"

Of course not. There are no programs labeled "fraud". Sniffing it out takes skill and expertise. You know, like in the inspectors general you guys just fired or the Medicaid Fraud units you're ignoring. www.publicnotice.co/p/despite-th...
