A low-protein diet drives short- and long-term improvements in metabolic health in a mouse model of sleeve gastrectomy
Illiano et al. apply a multi-omics approach to study the effects of post-SG dietary protein on host metabolism in mice. Counter to current practice, following SG, they find that a low-protein, high-carbohydrate diet can drive weight loss, reduce weight recurrence, increase energy expenditure, and improve glucose homeostasis.
