Wi-Fi, network automation, and cat memes. Not necessarily in that order. PhD in dumpster fires.

VPN vendors have huge budgets to advertise on your favorite podcasts.

We don't have marketing for the IETF, browser and OS security teams, CAs (Let's Encrypt), CDNs, researchers, open source authors, website builders, digital rights activists...

We made the web secure and didn't tell anyone.
Man-in-the-middle attacks on Public WiFi networks haven't been a realistic threat in a decade. Almost all websites use encryption by default, and anything of value uses HSTS to prevent attackers from downgrading / disabling encryption. It's a non issue.
They are useful to prevent man in the middle attacks where someone uses a pineapple to spoof a public wifi signal.

Yeah literally anyone who has ever actually spent even five minutes with the cyberpunk genre should have been able to predict this.

I've created a small @haminawireless.bsky.social simulation for one of my sales guys today so we can decide on the warehouse antennas. I shared my screen and he watched. In the end he told me that this is the first time he really understands why we chose that specific antenna. just love that tool.

Tested the Sidos Wave in a stadium environment recently. The screen offers insights on nearby networks, including 6 GHz and Standard Power APs, as well as beacon processing stats. For tethered surveying, I clipped the device to my backpack with the Peak Design Capture Clip.

I keep seeing Bsky described as a "lefty echo chamber" and like 80 percent of the posts I see are just "If you think about it, Lore from TNG is just corrupted Data."

Had a blast testing Hamina Onsite with the upcoming WLAN Pi Go. Surveyed a small section of a stadium with HPE Aruba Standard Power APs—all using just an iPhone and a compact accessory that fits in my (admittedly large) hand.

Have just completed this week’s OpenWi-Fi project steering committee call. It’s a project I’m really excited about - a disaggregated networking technology that allows for individual sourcing of hardware and software components, that are certified to work together. telecominfraproject.com/openwifi/

Lord help us.
The Wi-Fi Alliance just released the updated WPA3, version 3.4... 📶🔒

And if I'm reading it right, they basically added Compatibility modes that are downgrade attacks to WPA2.

Surely I'm reading it wrong...

Need to rotate Attenuating Objects in Hamina Network Planner? With a bunch of help from an LLM, I wrote a web app that rotates groups of objects, which might come in handy for your Wi-Fi designs in places like warehouses. 📦🛜
