A funny quirk of this that only my hyperfixating ass noticed is that the 2003 port of Halo 1 will run on any Windows OS released in the last 30 years.
As long as the hardware requirements are met and it thinks it's on Windows, it don't care.

There have been additions and alterations, but functionally Windows 11 is Windows 10 is Windows 8.1 is Windows 8 is Windows 7 is Windows Vista.
You can even use Windows Vista drivers in Windows 11 sometimes!

Can *I* use Linux for my day to day? Absolutely. But I'm also the kind of nutjob who installs Windows 3.1 on DOSBox and adds USB-C functionality to a Dell desktop from 2007 for no other reason than "Because I'm bored".

The Nvidia drivers wouldn't uninstall cleanly without the terminal, and even then the whole system was acting so buggy with lockups and errors that I had to resort to a reinstall.

Going to be trying a new experience for me with Linux come Friday: migrating a Linux install from one Mobo and CPU to another.
We'll see how smoothly it goes. First I'll have to uninstall the Nvidia drivers and if I don't end up having to use the terminal I will eat a hat.
