Rafah is a city of 170,000. 1.3 million people have tried to seek shelter there. It takes up this little corner of Gaza. All of Gaza is the size of Philadelphia.

While Americans focus on the Super Bowl, Israel has begun bombing Rafah, where over a million people were told to take refuge, and the last place of refuge in Gaza.

They’ve been funneling Palestinians to Rafah for weeks and now they’re openly destroying it while the focus is on football. 🫠

If this was the single sole atrocity of its kind I would never forgive the people responsible not anyone who tried to handwave it away as a minor detail. Instead, there have been thousands of Hinds. Fuck anyone who thinks they can be forgotten.
Israel attacked the Red Crescent ambulance even after they'd cleared them to rescue Hind. The paramedics were killed. Hind is dead as well, and if you listened to the tapes you know she died terrified and alone sounded by the bodies of dead family.

If I only ever watched Over the Garden Wall alone, I have no doubt that I would still love it. But the fact that I’ve gotten to share it so many times with a room full of friends and warm (age-appropriate) drinks just makes it that much more special. 😇

I’ve always dreamt of a world where I can only watch movies with inconsistent quality on streaming platforms that could decide to delete stuff off the face of the earth for a tax refund. the digital future is so exciting. 😇

rewatched Asteroid City again. nobody understands the bewildering, melodic, cosmic depths of sadness and loneliness the way Wes Anderson does and I love him for it.

I think there’s something wrong with me because most of my favorite games involve exploring immersive environments specifically designed to confront you with with some of the scariest, gnarliest shit you can imagine.

Anyway, the Dead Space remake was awesome.

Almost every Hayao Miyazaki movie I’ve seen has been a masterpiece, but I just watched The Wind Rises last night and I feel like I need a term that’s somehow bigger than “masterpiece” because this movie changed me.

As a lifelong fan who takes this shit way too seriously and personally, more people need to be okay with Star Wars (or any IP) being “meh.”

“Meh” doesn’t mean bad!

“Meh” has been to me what a volleyball was to Tom Hanks in that movie I’ve definitely seen!

It was only my second time watching a Monroe flick, but “Niagara” totally floored me. Just a gorgeous film to look at—I’d do unspeakable things for a 4K release.

We built our own communities on Twitter and now they've been shattered. There are people who I would talk to every day that I haven't seen in months because we both left. And yeah, that's worth mourning.
Honestly, so am I. I am genuinely sad about Twitter right now. I was going to say it feel weird to grieve for, essentially, a domain name and branding, but then I remembered Twitter was a place and an idea, wildly imperfect but even so, and now it's just so thoughtlessly... gone. It hurts.
I'm shocked by how sad it made me this morning.
