Haverford College in Philly's suburbs is a Quaker-founded bastion of progressive thought, home to the brilliant 1960s-70s radical prof Bill Davidon, among others

Now it's produced Howard Lutnick and Palantir's Alex Karp. So much for "liberal indoctrination" www.nytimes.com/2025/11/10/o...

Still desperate for a good question. I probably confused everyone -- the mainbar of the newsletter is largely about the Democrats on Capitol Hill (and the history lesson is Dick Cheney) so maybe something else

Please
Happy Tuesday to Birds fans and everyone else, which means it's time yet again for the Will Bunch Newsletter and the Ask Me Anything feature

I'm guessing there'll be some questions about the Democratic Party, but please fire away

Conor Lamb would, it turns out, be a huge upgrade over turncoat Fetterman, but the Pennsylvanian I'd love to see in the Senate is Rep. Summer Lee. No, I have no idea if she's interested in running in 2028

The former congressman is back on the radar as many Pennsylvania progressives have grown frustrated with Sen. John Fetterman

That old metaphor about the frog and the boiling water isn’t true: If you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly raise the heat, the frog will jump out before it gets boiled to death.
The question now is whether American journalists are smarter than frogs.

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

I am amazed by the people who don't think this is going to further radicalize the left. Talk about not reading the room at all.
The centrists in the Senate Democratic caucus saw that the country was rallying to the party in the 2025 elections and resolved that they would do anything they could to kill that momentum.
