just wrote this thread about the Time article, This is not a criticism for or against AI just to clarify But is rather a specific criticism of both the time article and the paper more directly
The Time article about the MIT Media Lab study on ChatGPT is inaccurate. It claims the researchers didn’t specify which model was used and that LLMs hallucinated GPT-4o. But the paper clearly says “OpenAI’s GPT-4o” on page 23. That claim is flat-out false.
