every day i log onto bluesky and have to learn the name of a federal judge
I feel like if it’s not a limited resource and not for profoundly disabled people it’s not a huge deal. I need meds, accommodations for time, and for handwriting thought organization issues, and all i care is i can perform, not that others aren’t better than me
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

Of course, I also don’t think the OU student who wrote the shitty Bible essay was doing so in good faith. It’s a classic cancellation stunt and OU is ensuring that it will continue to be a profitable and popular grift that continues to threatens the entire education system

Age 4-6 I refused to watch or read anything that wasn’t about penguins and inexplicably gained the power to comprehend advanced zoology texts if penguins were involved but could not in other contexts. Ditto age 9-12 about dense finance texts about the leadup to the 2008 recession

Used to do a bit in undergrad where I pretended I read The Power Broker by saying stuff from Robert Moses’ Wikipedia + random untrue vibes-based yapping to test whether they’d correct me or nervously agree it was in the book. Found out zero of the faculty who’d claimed to have read it actually had.
lmao robert moses came up at the thanksgiving dinner table (duh) and my dad gets up, retrieves this mug from the kitchen and silently hands it to me. he bought it for himself. I can’t ☠️☠️☠️
