there is no jurisprudence at work here. the republican court believes that anything a republican president is presumptively constitutional, even if it directly violates the unambiguous constitutional text and causes total chaos in law and policy.

In the AC Hotel, we got word from a staff member that the agents were staying here and questioning the workers—the workers that were cleaning their rooms, the workers that were making their food. They were questioning them and asking for their ID and in a very aggressive way.

The order instructs the Election Assistance Commission to amend its national mail voter registration form to require that all voters present documentation proving they are citizens with an ID that conforms with the REAL ID Act of 2005, a military ID, government-issued photo ID, or a passport.
If state election officials refuse to comply with Trump’s unlawful edict to share their voter rolls with Elon Musk, the attorney general could withhold law enforcement grants.
