Pfft!
Baby we were poor black kids who came up in the D.A.R.E. program. Wasn't nobody in my crew spending money on no coke.

Weed AT BEST! Mostly alcohol 😂
All the shock around coke is how I know yall wasn’t outside like yall say yall was outside.

🧵THREAD On December 1, 1955 secretary, investigator and founder of Alabama's NAACP Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her seat to a white passenger in Montgomery. This is often considered the start of the modern civil rights movement.

Don't know about Rosa Parks?

Glad you asked.

Exactly. I love mine, but it's only great if you really really want kids. Don't let anyone guilt you into it.
Person: "I'm not sure I want children."

Me, holding my baby who I love more than air: "THEN DON'T DO IT. DO NOT. DO IIIIIIIIIIIIIT. UNLESS YOU ARE SURE IN YOUR BONES."

Asshole, unneeded: "You'll love your baby once they're born."

Me: *throws loaded diaper at their face, rubs it in*

People who like kids but don't want to have kids are VERY IMPORTANT. Parents cannot and should not be doing this on our own. An extended family of non-related aunties, uncles, big sibs, play cousins--that is a blessing.
People are shocked when I say I don’t want kids bc I love nannying and I love babysitting and kids love me and I love kids and I always have to explain yes I love kids. I also have enough experience with kids to know that having one of my own would be a bad idea for me AND THEM

Covid really broke humans. Cause I don’t understand any of this. It was bad before. But now it’s just massive amounts of misinformation, cowardice and an over abundance of grifters trying to make a quick buck.

These things always existed but it’s so much worse

OPINION: "'Sinners,' directed by Ryan Coogler, was a masterfully executed horror movie that—vampires aside—featured historically accurate depictions of ways Black people survived Jim Crow. This was probably the most clever way to disguise a history lesson I have ever witnessed," Carmichael writes.
Opinion | Sinners Review: In Black Films, Context Matters
Shanina Carmichael writes about how “Sinners” was a historically accurate depiction of Black masculinity and femininity in the Jim Crow South.

Many don’t know their own family history/lineage. Didn’t gather the passed down stories from their elders. There are many Black Americans w/ someone like a “Mary” in their family story. Some stayed, some left. But the story is there.
