HASSETT: We're comfortable that inflation has come way down

QUINTANILLA: Even though it's been increasing for 5 straight months?

If you were subscribed to the podcast, you'd know that even though @insanityreport.bsky.social is on UDPod, it is NOT an Insanity Check episode.

Okay, SOME Insanity Check spilled into the episode, but it works.

Trust me.

Oh so you mean yo tell me Meta is putting out a product that really has no reason to exist outside of violating privacy laws and they don’t care? No not Meta. They would never…
Today in #404DeepDive: People are modding Meta Ray-Bans to spy on you. Already, there are videos with millions of views of men using the glasses to film massage workers, asking for happy endings. What's Meta's response? @evystadium.bsky.social has more.

Of course he knew

This is what I was saying yesterday. He’s hiding behind these 8 as if he had no idea what was going on.

That’s a terrible leader. At the very least grow a spine and take some responsibility
Schumer needs to be voted out NOW!! Adam Schiff would be an awesome leader to take his place and trumps worst nightmare!
November 11, 2025 at 2:42 PM
I'm beginning to realize that leadership is so terrible in this country (not just politically but across the board) that people don't know what leaders are supposed to do.

The #1 job of a leader is to communicate. Even when it's something ppl dont like. Especially when it something ppl dont like

Shocker
In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies
November 10, 2025 at 11:14 PM
"come on guys they couldn't do this forever"

No shit. But it's really the lowest bar to expect the Minority leader of the Senate to a) have a plan b) be able to communicate that plan

Instead out of nowhere, there is this "deal" that we're to believe he had nothing to do with & is against.

ok
November 10, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Here's the thing. Why is it everyone else is trying to explain and message this shit better than Chuck Schumer? Isn't he the Senate Minority Leader? Hell, I'll even give some (SOME) credit to the members that voted for this. At least they had the spine to speak on their reasoning.

Ok. Let's take this at face value. The democrats plan was to force the GOP to go on record for being the is responsible for health-care premiums rising. Ok. Cool. Small problem with that.

When was the last time that the GOP paid a political price for hurting the American people?

Right.
Now for some levity and logic based in facts.

Every time RFK speaks i can’t help but die a little inside knowing there are people who hear him speak and think he’s an informed human being in the health space.

Dude sounds like every word he speaks took every ounce of his strength to come out of his mouth

This just further confirms for me the “deal” wasn’t about SNAP or federal workers as a whole. It was that flights were being delayed and with the holidays around the corner that was going to upset too many people, namely folks with money
Trump to air traffic controllers: "For those that did nothing but complain, and took time off, even though everyone knew they would be paid, IN FULL, shortly into the future, I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK"

For Squidbillies fans this is the equivalent of Early wearing a paper bag on his head, robbing Boyd at gun point, taking the bag off, paying Boyd with the money he just robbed him of to buy beer. Then shooting Boyd anyway

seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous
November 10, 2025 at 12:50 PM
100%

it’s clear Schumer is so ineffective as a leader there is no plan. There is no unified message. There is no strategy.
Ro Khanna calls for Schumer‘ ouster

Also...it's a "they think we're stupid" moment too. So you mean to tell me that Dem Senators up for reelection in 2026 in vulnerable seats didn't cave but a bunch of safe seat democrats that are either resigning or up for 2028/2030 seats just had to vote this way?

Come on. That's insulting
November 10, 2025 at 11:57 AM
It's also not lost on me that people are okay with pain and suffering as long as it's not affecting a majority. When it's brown folks being rounded up in masked ice raids or trans people having rights taken from them...all the sudden it's "we gotta be in it for the long fight"
November 10, 2025 at 11:47 AM
Here's the thing. At the very least they could have tried to get a better deal. They could have waited for the ruling on SNAP benefits because if those started flowing then the "we're doing this for SNAP benefits" argument doesn't work.
Yeah, with respect, @jamellebouie.net and a lot of the other Fight Faction ppl on this site are wrong.

The Fight was the point, and the Fight got Republicans to openly do a fuckton of absolutely horrendous shit out in the open, and basically break their House majority as a functioning organ.
Sincere question: what does victory look like?

Because maybe I'm missing something but I don't see any viable path to actually getting reconciliation subsidy shit reversed

The game was always raise salience, and an up/down vote w/dem language sounds like that to me

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

This is no different than the promise Republicans made in March that they reneged on.

They will not honor the deal. You cannot shame them into action. They have no capacity for shame. All you're doing is showing that you will always fall for the banana in the tail pipe.
“What do you say to your colleagues who say this isn't a fight, this is a capitulation?”

@shaheen.senate.gov : “We have a guaranteed vote by a guaranteed date...” 🤷🏼‍♀️

So support primary challenges against the cowards who caved then. If you really feel like they sold y’all out, tell them they’re in their own
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.
November 10, 2025 at 2:58 AM
Couldn’t even negotiate for a pinky promise vote in the same week. They got one maybe for next month. What a bunch of morons.
