I honestly have more respect for those that voted and spoke up (not fetterman. fuck that guy) because at least they are facing the heat.

A good leader would be taken the heat with them. Especially since it's obvious that the ppl that voted, were carefully selected to do it.

He could have stood up and said "hey. we held out as long as we could but too many ppl are being hurt and the gop is close to blowing up the filibuster meaning even more ppl will be hurt."

It is absurd to sit here and think that Schumer, as the Dem Leader, has no responsibility here. Again, either these 8 Dems completely broke from him and went behind his back or he's well aware of what they were doing and was okay with it but is letting them take the heat

No one in their right mind thought the shutdown would go on forever or even last through thanksgiving. The Dems are up against a GOP & President that truly do not care how many people they harm. Everyone truly understands that

I have so little faith in Chuck Schumer I actually think he wanted to vote for this but is tired of being yelled at so he's letting everyone else take heat because he's a spineless chicken shit of a leader

Dude ain't up to the moment. He's never been. Ever. But its now coming to a head and this has to end. The Dem brand overall takes a hit because Schumer is so bad of a leader.

A real leader would step up and 1. take all the heat and 2. come out and try to message it. Where is he? Nowhere.

And that's the problem. This is a leadership problem. I could even get behind "honestly...after seeing this one weekend of air travel, it was unsustainable and we needed to do this" if he just came out and had some kind of plan, strategy or message.

But Schumer has nothing. Nothing at all

Chuck Schumer is either hiding behind these 8 and this was an overall strategy (have folks that aren't up for reelection vote to cover for those that are) or these 8 negotiated a deal and went around him.

Both options look bad for someone who is supposed to be a leader
