He has a poor understanding of how Waymo operates.

Today's Waymo geofence for the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival at the GG Park Polo Field appears to be the same as they used for Outside Lands almost 2 months ago.

Walking blocks to/from your robot being the new multimodal in San Francisco.

And it's important to note that this is bad **even if you happen to get the right answer**

because it is still changing the nature of the interaction from "evaluate possibilities and draw a conclusion" to "ask for an answer and receive it"
The LLM actively reduces the available context for the information it provides, which is bad.

But even worse, it *trains people to accept information without context*

LLMs destroy context. You used to be able to tell a crank website from a good source partly by its style.

But now we have a tool that puts careful research, incoherent garbage, and intentional shitposting through a kind of grammatical instagram filter, presenting them all with the same credibility
The bigger change is presentation, historically, these emails were visually chaotic: sudden colour changes, ALL CAPS, screenshots pasted at random. Classic signs of disordered thinking. Now they’re neat, structured, and grammatically consistent. The delusion hasn't changed, but the formatting has.

i want to nuke these people from space
This is a nuts story. An AI chatbot and image platform left millions of images exposed. They show what people are actually using the AI for: taking random women's yearbook, graduation, and social media photos and making super realistic hardcore porn with them

Massive Leak Shows Erotic Chatbot Users Turned Women’s Yearbook Pictures Into AI Porn

i'd like to invite this man to a steel cage match with me in the steel cage. i would like some chairs and tables, maybe a handful of thumbtacks, some wooden skewers, and a 2x4

fellow creative freelancers: cannot recommend the good folks at brass taxes enough. they'll walk you through everything, they understand media industry forms, they have a super helpful worksheet, and the payment you send them is also tax deductible for next year. worth every penny if you can spare
TurboTax is about to be integrated into ChatGPT, where customers will be guided through tasks tied to their tax filings or financial profile by the AI chatbot.

TurboTax owner Intuit is also paying OpenAI more than $100 million a year to power AI agents.

Archaeologist here. For 99.5% of human history (ca 300-400,000 years), we were peaceful (no war). There was conflict and smaller scale violence, but countless studies on the 119 known modern hunter gatherer groups show cooperation, negotiation, and peace instead of conflict. Please read books.
Revenge/physical combat was how people settled things for literally millions of years, it's normal human behavior, we're wolves not sheep, the government project trying to social engineer us and domesticate us into sheep has been unsuccessful

Graham Hancock's absolutely wild Sphinx conspiracy theory from 1996. He claims a multi-millionaire from a secret religious sect had taken over archaeological work at Giza in Egypt.
