Can I let you in on a little secret?

Billionaire philanthropy isn’t charity.

It’s PR to distract you from low wages, labor exploitation, and a tax system that’s rigged for the rich.

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.

There is a direct correlation between how fake your job is and how much value you see in AI
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests

To be explicit, we executed a German U-Boat commander who said he had to sink lifesaving gear / “inadvertently” kill survivors because it might give away his position, thereby potentially resulting in the loss of his submarine.

We executed multiple members of that crew.
Heinz-Wilhelm Eck might have something to say about this one.

The BBC is now so fearful of Trump that it edited a statement of opinion about Trump out of the broadcast of a speech by a respected historian. It is a measure of how dangerously pliant much of the press has become in the face of Trump's threats.
NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

When asked why they make up lies for the right-wing instead of the left, the fake news creators said, "Look man. We tested everything. We write made-up stories for the right and the left. The left is not gullible enough."

I think wealth inequality is part of it for sure, but its also a legal and political culture of elite impunity that is more than just about money
We don’t spend enough time talking about how massively increasing wealth inequality has insulated our oligarchic class not just from consequences but from reality, too. This is true whether we’re talking about Thiel ranting about the anti Christ of Summers trying to coerce a grad student.
