This has largely been memory-holed but in Trump 1.0, he picked a big public trade fight with China. They retaliated by cutting off agriculture purchases, farmers got squeezed, Trump mailed them checks and had to go crawling back to Xi for a face-saving "deal".

Sound familiar?

1. Paramount's hostile takeover bid for Warner Bros. Discovery exposes Jared Kushner's game

Kushner is not running a private equity fund. He's running an influence peddling operation.

It's spelled out on page 42 of Paramount's new SEC filing
Kushner and Saudis back hostile takeover of Hollywood giant
Jared Kushner is funneling $24 billion from Middle Eastern governments to back a hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery—all while advising President Trump on foreign policy.

When given a choice between the oligarch class (like chip makers who want to sell to China) & the long-term security of the US & national interest as a whole, Trump ALWAYS chooses oligarchs because everything he does as president is for them. If only his supporters could see it.

Shoe prices are up 15% heading into the holiday season.

One possible reason why? Trump’s Justice Department greenlit DICK’S Sporting Goods taking over Foot Locker.

Now, stores are closing and American shoppers are getting the boot.

The tariffs are the greatest abuse of power by a President in our history.
The President of the United States unilaterally levied a tax on all of us and is redistributing our taxes to a core segment of his supporters.
Trump: "I'm delighted to announce this afternoon that the US will be taking a small portion of the hundreds of billions of dollars we receive in tariffs ... and we're going to be giving and providing it to the farmers in economic assistance. We love our farmers. The farmers like me ... $12 billion"

A Paramount-Warner Bros. merger would be a five-alarm antitrust fire.

Not to mention it's backed by a who's who of Trump buddies and foreign money.

The government's review of any deal needs to be based on the law and facts — not who sucked up the most to Donald Trump.

I am not live posting the whole argument here because I want to listen closely to Trump v. Slaughter. But the solicitor general for Trump just said the point here in killing the independence of agencies like the FTC is that executive branch officers must “fear and obey” the president. Wow. #SCOTUS

For reasons completely unrelated to any opinions about regulatory policy, a Day 1 executive order here in the US should be ending every government agency account on X. Just delete them all, plain as that. For the same reason the US government need not have accounts on Stormfront or 4chan.
Pretty crazy that nearly all of the EU Commission is still on X even as Elon Musk is literally talking about destroying the EU.

You can leave X. It's really not that difficult.
So what's the outcome?

2️⃣5️⃣ of the 27 Commissioners have posted in the last week

2️⃣4️⃣ of the 27 generally post every week (Albuquerque has never been on X, Ribera is sporadic, McGrath has somehow stopped)

0️⃣ have stopped as a result of what Twitter has become since the Musk takeover
