Loud voices in the climate community ignore the actual science and constantly use cherry-picking, strawmann arguments and ad hominems to try and deny the undeniable.

Pretending that we have been exaggerating, while it's likely even worse than we feared (again, based on data).

Deadly Vietnam Floods

Heavy rain, severe flooding, landslides in Vietnam. Relentless rain lashed Vietnam since late October.

Keeping up with students’ methods of cheating has always been a cat-and-mouse game for teachers. But some now say that AI tools, particularly Google Lens, have made it impossible to enforce academic integrity in the classroom. bit.ly/3Lww7rK

Cosmos: A Personal Voyage

One of my favorite clips from Episode 7 (Nov. 1980), Carl Sagan returns to his 6th grade classroom to teach students in his childhood neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York.

You can see their genuine curiosity, wonder, and eagerness to learn.

Loved this morning’s Women’s Breeze Ride - a relaxed 8 miles along the Worcs & Bham Canal towpath, the A38 cycleway, and the beautiful Rea Valley.

So good to see the green spaces full of life - cyclists, walkers, even kayakers! 🚴‍♀️🛶

Good for the body and soul 💚

As coal power plants go offline, data centers boot up, and more people switch to electric appliances and vehicles, the region's electrical grid is strained and there’s not enough renewable energy projected to come online to fill the gap.
As NW faces rolling blackouts, study says renewable energy may not be enough
The greater Northwest region could experience a 9-gigawatt energy gap by 2030, or about the same amount of power consumed by Oregon. That could lead to rolling blackouts during extreme weather events starting next year, a study suggests.

Upwelling Failure

For the first time since records began, the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the Gulf of Panama failed to emerge from depths of the ocean to rise to the surface.

Finding highlights climate’s impact on fundamental oceanic processes.
