With 4 days of data to go, November, 2025, will likely end up as the third warmest November on record and third warmest November in the last 120,000+ years.

November will also mark the second consecutive month breaking 1.5°C over the 1850-1900 pre-industrial baseline.

Stay tuned!

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Read that back.

When 400 people control more wealth than half a country’s population, we have a very serious problem.

This is extraordinary. This season is also not yet over.
What I meant to say was: “2 cat 5’s in back to back seasons.”
#Humberto is now a Cat 5!
It’s the first time in nearly a century with back to back seasons with Cat 5’s in the Atlantic.
We are seeing our warmer future unfold in real-time, IMO. 1/

Juan Brown says that with first officer being the pilot flying, the captain would have their right hand on the throttle up to rotation speed, then remove it. No one's hand should have been near the throttle at liftoff, as it's too late for an abort.

Hard to see how it could be accidental.

Depressing to see Met Office predict 50/50 chance of 40°C UK temperature within next 12 y. This is based on increasingly obsolete climate modelling that ignores the steep increase in Earth energy imbalance over the last decade and its clear explanation by Hansen's group. Expect 40°C this decade ☀️🔥

With big organisations like #Ocado choosing to represent themselves like this as climate change deniers and/or climate change ignorers we really have no hope. Climate change is no joke.

#ocado is this really how you want people to think of you?

If you think climate change has gotten worse during your lifetime, you're right and there's a good reason.

If you're Gen X like me, more than 3/4 of fossil fuel CO₂ emissions have occurred in your lifetime. Even if you're a Millennial, it's at least half.

Scientists ...have recorded huge die-offs of insects in nature reserves around the world.

They include in Germany, where flying insects across 63 insect reserves dropped 75% in less than 30 years; the US, where beetle numbers dropped 83% in 45 years;

48mm of rain fell here in 1 hour last night (midlands UK). Thunderstorms stronger and carrying more water than we normally see even in August. Trains delayed, roads flooded and closed, flash flooding, water pouring off the fields and taking soil with it. And my roof leaked.

This is huge.
Preliminary data suggests that the global average increase in atmospheric CO2 concentration in 2024 will be a record.

Not just a little record, but 25% higher than the previous record.

(This is the global average, as opposed to Moana Loa)
