Hi, I GM under appreciated tabletop RPGs, make my own systems, dabble in digital art, photography, hobbyist engineering, and run on sentences. I think everyone should have access to a bicycle and a safe way to use them and the world would be better if more people did.

Congestion pricing in New York City is a month old. What are the results? Less crime as subway ridership up, less cars, less traffic, more people walking around, and increasing popularity. Here's a thread of recent stories about it.

When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests.

We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason.

A man was working on the top of the Empire State Building when he lost his footing and he fell. As he plummeted, folks on the 50th floor heard him call out, "So far so good!"

That's conservatives, watching the ground rushing to meet them, only they didn't lose their footing, they threw us all off.

Incredibly useful guide for how to protect our neighbors and co-workers -- there are fact sheets to share with employers and tips for organizing an ICE watch program.
This is a great piece.

"As deportations ramp up again, we have a choice: We can watch as our neighbors disappear or we can build on these proven strategies to protect the diverse communities we've built together."

Look, there's no point in pretending anymore. So its time to start the work. Encourage folks you know to do backyard gardens if they can (check local regs)- worse case we'll be under siege, best case we'll be dealing with massive displaced population.(1/2)

i think the executive orders directing agencies to end energy efficiency regulations and open up more land to drilling and mining is so indicative of the character of the american right — in its view everything, whether people or our larger environment, is something to be exploited and dominated

Opinion | Libraries can help end the culture wars. That’s why they’re under fire.

(2/2) But for the rest of us, we must ask ourselves; is it better to fight for a future or run from it?

I get why people say they wish they could leave, but the US is a world destroying monster of consumption, fleeing to *somewhere else* just means you spent your resources running instead of fighting. Some people can't fight, and that's a fair use of their resources to save themselves, (1/2)
