Many reasons why I live in St. Paul but this reason is in my top 5.
Keeping stupid trendy stuff out of St. Paul is the entire magic of St. Paul.

Oh it’s on. I would go to war for Rebecca.
NO I WON'T BACK DOWN: A day after St. Paul City Council President Rebecca Noecker announced a run for his District 5 seat, Ramsey County Board Chair Rafael Ortega said he has no plans to step aside. He's up for re-election, if you'll have him:

Absolutely not. The solution to safer streets and healthier neighborhoods is *fewer* cars, not more.

We have a lot of evidence about what works (e.g., more accessible, affordable public transit) -- let's invest in that.

Welp, the planet is cooked but at least my dog gets a second chance at last river swim of the year.

Aurora in St. Paul right now!

The canine inability to grasp daylight savings time is very difficult at this time of day. I think my dog just rolled his eyes at me.

Tonight has been truly monumental, a testament to the hard work of my family, my team, and the incredible Saint Paul community. I'm overwhelmed by the love and support. This marks just the beginning; we now face the challenging task of running the city and moving it forward. Thank you all.

Whatever happens in the next 8-12 hours, I hope Melvin recognizes that 59% of voters in this city don’t like what he’s doing.

At the Kaohly Her election night party and I’ve seen three city council members and spoken to multiple prominent business people. Only one of them felt comfortable publicly supporting Her for fear of retaliation from this current administration.
Speaks volumes about the ethics of our current mayor.

Great afternoon door-knocking for Kaohly! Most people don’t come to their doors, but those who did, I had great conversations with and many are strong or leaning towards Kaohly.
Thank you to DJ from Dukem Ethiopian for hosting our door knock launch yesterday! As your Mayor, I will show up in every corner of the city, and with every community in mind. I’m proud of our work, and I want to finish this campaign strong - with you!

But, but…I saw a Kaohly sign next to an SOS sign in front a rich person’s house on Summit!
(This is the basic distillation of the discourse around candidate Her on this platform)
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Saint Paul Professional Firefighters Local 21 for their tireless dedication to our communities. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

I don’t blame Melvin for crime, vacant buildings, and an empty downtown. I understand the larger forces beyond his control. What I do blame him for is failing to listen to and respect the communities he is supposed to represent. It’s not what he’s done, it’s how.

Someone in my neighborhood got FED. UP.

Even better, we get to burn the planet 5 times faster than we already were with this useless technology! What a time to be alive.

So heartbreaking and infuriating. I’m tired of reading stories like this seemingly every week. When we don’t listen to women, women die.

“Carter’s greatest ability might be the way he tells stories.”

Indeed. This is a great profile and I was glad to provide some insights from the district council perspective.

A cheerleader for a limping city, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter wants another term
Taxes are higher and downtown is more dead than in 2017, but Carter is banking on optimism amid a challenge from Kaohly Her.

Amy Klobuchar using early retirees as her pity case about ACA subsidies. Unreal. Looks like the Democrats war on working people continues.
