There remains no explanation of any kind as to how protests somehow directly led to two jihadists buying six rifles and murdering innocent civilians at a beach.

Australian media is so packed with angry racists that they won't ever ask for one

Who's going to stand up and make Nazis ashamed again?
A "March for Australia" rally sounds benign, but people who plan to attend the "March for Australia" rallies around the country on Sunday will almost certainly be marching alongside white supremacists...

Just finished watching Star Trek Enterprise as I begin consuming this franchise in universe order - and I now need more T’Pols and Dr Phloxes in my life. The humans I can give or take tbh!

Every tech update now is like: "Great news, the word processor you've relied on for twenty years has learned to juggle! Is it good at it? No! Does it help in any way? Of course not! Has it made it insufferable to use? Oh, absolutely."

What kind of shitehole country keeps 66,000 metric tons of food locked in a warehouse, and then destroys it to deprive 3.5 million people of food? The food is already paid for, why not give it to people in need?

In all serious, this moment is more profound than the invasion of Iraq. What we appear to be watching is the end of a commitment by these nations, even token, to the "rules based international order" and an embrace of "might makes right" in defence of an illegal act of aggression.
Those load-bearing US State Department talking points are really getting a work out across the English speaking working.

I think this is deeply wishful thinking. Labor has their most right wing platform post-Whitlam, including openly running on cutting immigration. Hard to accept a consensus that toxic hard right politics is over.
Some non-ALP lefties
may be disappointed but this is a far better result for progressives than a minority govt as it’s the 1st time in 30 yrs the Coalition has experienced 2 decisive #ausvotes losses. It will forge an #auspol common sense about hard right politics being toxic to swing voters
