The storm prediction center has issued a high risk for severe weather on 3/15/25. This is a tornado related high risk. Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia are included in the medium to high risk areas (red and pink). Central Mississippi and Alabama are at greatest risk for, multiple, strong to violent tornadoes. Please prepare to find shelter and stay weather aware. Be prepared not scared.

Without going all Martin Niemöller here, I do think that it's bad not to speak up for immigrants, transgender Americans, civil servants, women, Ukraine, and everyone else the MAGA bullies are going after. We're beyond picking and choosing whom to defend. It's time to stand up and speak out.

Two days in advance of the Eaton fire the 24 year-old advised Pasadena area residence. The fire danger is going to be sky high and to get their go bag ready and pack their car with everything needed for evacuation in case of wildfire should erupt during the upcoming damaging, potentially rigorous Santa Ana windstorm.

Oscar is moving toward the west near 10 mph (17 km/h), and this motion with a gradual slowdown and turn to the west-southwest is forecast tonight into tomorrow. A sharp turn to the northeast is anticipated by late Monday. Maximum sustained winds are near 85 mph (140 km/h) with higher gusts. A little more strengthening is possible tonight, but gradual weakening is expected to begin by Sunday night and Monday. Oscar is a very small hurricane, with hurricane-force winds only extending outward up to 5 miles (10 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extending outward up to 45 miles (75 km). A private weather station on South Caicos recently reported a sustained wind of 39 mph (63 km/h) and a gust of 54 mph (87 km/h). The estimated minimum central pressure is 987 mb (29.15 inches). Tropical storm conditions are expected to first reach the coast within the warning area by Sunday afternoon, making outside preparations difficult or dangerous.
