The government claims Mahmoud Khalil was already in NJ on his way to Louisiana by the time his habeas petition was filed—an argument that the NY federal court lacks jurisdiction.

One more thing: Punchbowl reports that some Democratic senators are considering allowing the CR to proceed to a floor vote, lowering the threshold from 60 to 51 votes. One interesting thing going on with Democrats: Those emerging as public-facing leaders--AOC, Frost, Crockett, Chris Murphy, Walz, Brian Schatz, others--are not ideologically uniform. What connects them is communication skill--you either have it or you don't--and a sense of urgency and stakes.
