We're definitely entering an era where the Internet is so hollowed out, so untrustworthy and compromised, that real world interactions, things identifiably done by human beings, will take on greater value and purpose.

Hmm, let’s see… mass detention of civilians without trial or traditional legal protections on the basis of identity (race, religion, ethnicity, political affiliation) rather than any criminal act, often for an indefinite period and done principally to expand political power. Check.

So, when I was a student working a summer job, I got an extremely strange mass email from some nutjob, that opened with "BRITNEY IS MINE!" and only got weirder from there. The author was clearly quite ill, and a cursory Google showed he'd crossposted his rant to several online message boards....
