No, that's fucking insane, not to mention seriously concerning that they couldn't hold off for one evening, not to mention they couldn't be upfront with you about it. Major red flags here, and you're totally justified in being extremely upset by this.

I think at some point there needs to be a conversation about exclusivity and what each person is willing (or able) to commit to. And honestly I'd just be interested in what any potential partner did for a living. But I also know there needs to be a level of trust there to have that conversation.
