“I’m not going to claim CEOs are that special. It’s just somebody has to tell others . . . ‘This is where we’re going.’ And AI is not particularly good at that yet.”

AI can do everyone else’s job, but CEOs are just too important to automate. How convenient!

Replaying SoulSilver has made me miss actual Pokémon rivals even more. Like friendly rivals can be fun, but also like c’mon, give me a real bastard, a certified son of a bitch, make me say “oh this fucking guy again”

btw if you're so petrified of doing a bad job that you can't even start, then what you need isn't advice on how to make comics. you need to learn to embrace being messy and bad at things and being okay with that because it's necessary, and actually it's GOOD. being messy is WONDERFUL

Have had analysis paralysis for like 6 months because I need a mini PC to move all my services from my NAS but it's either I get another cheap N100-based box or I buy an M4 Mac Mini and do some freak stuff. The first choice is sensible and the second is fun and messy and costs way more.

Center left parties like the Dems lose constantly because they’re unwilling to provide answers to problems people are acknowledging across the political spectrum (cost of living, wage stagnation, etc.) Right wing parties thrive on providing simple (but nonsense) answers to these complex problems.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has emerged as one of the Democratic Party’s leading voices. But some worry she will turn off the centrist voters needed to win competitive races.
AOC Isn’t Ruling Anything Out, Including the White House
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s rise to prominence worries some Democrats who say the base is taking the wrong lessons from the 2024 election.

“Cringe culture” is a social panopticon that has totally killed experimenting and failure in your formative years
my guess is that it’s bc a) the journey of discovery necessitates making mistakes, and b) people are afraid to make mistakes.

not sure about the why for b) but another guess is the permanence of content on social media mixed with a lot of care for what others think.

Actually the best life advice I ever got: Anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. A half-cleaned room is better than an uncleaned room. Occasionally flossing is better than never flossing. A 10-minute workout is better than no workout. When it’s all you can do to get out of bed, get out of bed.

In the 90s, I genuinely thought the Internet would cure loneliness. But it turns out that for me anyway the Internet addresses loneliness the way alcohol addresses anxiety.

One of these days we're gonna have to reckon with the fact that "money that I spend which does not directly benefit me is a waste" is a popular sentiment.

I think we should state plainly that this is selfish on its face.

And stupid when you have awareness which extends beyond your nose.
