Titan A.E. was pretty good! I liked the setting a lot, great locations throughout and honestly it felt like great pacing for an animated sci fi adventure. Shame about the two lead voice actors being terrible fits for their characters. I like Damon, I love Barrymore, but NOT for those roles

My puppy has the cone of shame on her head and I can’t help but laugh every time she knocks into something with it. Joke’s on me though because my little puppy has taken to ramming the back of my knees with the cone, a sensation I do not love

My most memorable experience remains Inglourious Basterds. I saw it with my Dad in a rowdy theater full of teens at the tail end of summer. Loud talking and laugher through the previews, into the opening credits. And the absolute silence midway through the farm scene as we all locked in. Magnifique
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I’ve been watching original Star Trek episodes with my devoted Trekkie partner. My theory on OG Star Trek is that the more time they spend on the Enterprise the better the episode will be.

I need a browser extension that changes every Disney+ news story headline to “You Made the Right Choice Dropping This Shit”
Disney has signed a deal with OpenAI and is investing $1B into the company

• Sora will now be able to AI generate videos based on characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars

• Some of these AI-generated videos will be released on Disney+

Incredible progress has been made with the video service on this app: Now the videos aren’t even making it halfway through before they freeze. And another fun new development: The frozen videos now lock up the whole app so I have to close the app and reopen it rather than just close the video. Cool!
I would love to be able to watch one video on this site without it freezing halfway through. It’s every single video now. So annoying, so consistent

The curse of watching compilation videos about media you are obsessed with so you are burdened with the knowledge that the compilation maker edited out the best part of the clip

At the end of 2016: Overwatch. I was still going hard playing that a lot a lot a lot

Now, looking back, Hitman. No doubt in my mind. I played through the Hitman 1 levels so, so much, including the tutorial soviet airbase and Colorado. Loved the challenged and escalations. Just a perfect game for me
Quote this with what you would have said your game of the year was at the end of 2016, and what you would say your favourite game of 2016 is now, if it differs

Shocked that “Crusades” by Geese eclipsed “2122” by Geese to be my top song of the year. I thought “2122” was a lock because the first day I heard it I listened to it nonstop. Anyway 3D Country is a great record and I can’t believe I only discovered it this year. Just in time for Getting Killed!

Back in the glorious old days, we had magazines. And the front cover would have a popular game on it. People would buy the mag for that, and then hear about all sorts of other stuff the journalists think you should know about. The mags were paid for by the readers... it was a solid model
yeah the harsh reality is that we do take a chance on small games no one's heard of a lot more often than anyone thinks we do. but literally no one reads the articles, which then reinforces to the powers that be that they're not worth doing. I don't know how to solve that problem!
I've been doing this all year but indie journalists have the same issues as indie games. Unless it's a big name, nobody cares.

I have never seen any of the Venom movies, nor have I seen Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, or Madame Web. But put all of them in a movie vs. one of the Sony Spider-Men and I’m in theaters opening night. I don’t even care if it’s terrible I just think that would be a spectacle I’d wanna see, good or bad.

Reddit stories have been a guilty pleasure of mine for years. Fake stories have always been a problem but the amount of AI slop filling those subreddits now is ridiculous. And the majority of comments either miss the obvious AI or are just AI bots themselves. Dead internet is alive and thriving.

So wild to me. Creative writing classes were a joy in college. Even when I wrote a terrible story that got absolutely trashed in group critique. To just not show up, ignore feedback, refuse to comply with guidelines and expectations for CREATIVE WRITING! What are you even doing in that class then?
We're seeing possibly the worst attendance in history. Even in creative writing classes, where students generally want to participate and have their voice heard--they're not showing up, ignoring guidelines and feedback, and either describing expectations as "unclear" or simply refusing to comply.

Extremely embarrassing to be sharing fake Trump posts as a “journalist.” It is easily verifiable. People in the profession just do not care anymore, I guess. Careless and lazy

Stranger Things makes the incredible choice to have one character ask another “do you even know how old your daughter is!?” when talking about a child who is supposed to be seven but looks much closer to the actual actress’ age of 14. Baffling to bring attention to it at all

I’m celebrating Thanksgiving with my girlfriend’s family and I knew we were all two episodes in to Death by Lightning, so I was like “cool this’ll be a safe show to watch with my partner’s parents” and OF COURSE episode three starts with a flashback to Guiteau’s time at the sex cult
Death by Lightning was really good! Incredible performances all around. Betty Gilpin’s final scene with Matthew Macfadyen steals the entire show for me
