On Wednesday, Renee Macklin Good was fatally shot by a federal ICE agent. Becca Good, her wife, shared the following statement with MPR News.

Thinkin about Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2… great games, great characters. I need to replay BG2 especially because of my feelings about the big bad evil guy, Jon Irenicus. I fucking hate that guy with my life. I *think* he is a poor villain but years later he’s still on my mind so they did something right

Keep thinking back to this movie. Dr. Ian Kelson is hands-down one of my favorite new characters in fiction in a long time. I felt that way after 28 Years Later (2025) and The Bone Temple only cemented it for me. Radical empathy in the face of horror and violence, it’s a beautiful thing

He's directing traffic. He steps inbetween ICE and two women who are being harrassed by them (one of whom was shoved to the ground for no reason), raises his hands and turns away from them and says "Okay! Okay!" to indicate he isn't going to be aggressive, at which point they start with pepper spray
He was helping direct traffic when federal authorities approached him. Less than a minute later he was dead.
