There’s a reason that Project 2025 specifically targeted the CFPB, and axed it first when Trump/DOGE came to power.
Something lost in the prices/affordability convo is that dismantling regulators shifts a financial burden onto consumers. They’re at much greater risk from various forms of fraud and less likely to comparison shop because of the likelihood that an unfamiliar product will be dangerous or defective

Sacramento, the wonderful owners of Strapping gifts in Oak Park have turned a portion of their store into a food pantry for the foreseeable future. Support them! They are seeing a lot of traffic and restocking milk and eggs every morning. Strapping 3405 Broadway. 10-7 daily.
