Wasn’t expecting the Epstein scandal to blow up the New York Times but sure, why not
To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

Time to look for Progressive Nevada Dems to primary Rosen and Cortez Masto
🧵 Okay so yesterday's vote has me needing to share something.

I've been tracking these 8 Democratic senators for months, and yesterday's surrender on healthcare wasn't surprising—it was predictable.

Let me show you why:

"Democrats could have held the line on the shutdown, and spent weeks watching Trump’s approval ratings fall," writes @jonathanbchait.bsky.social
Instead, he argues, they're making a mistake by giving in:

There’s a reason that Project 2025 specifically targeted the CFPB, and axed it first when Trump/DOGE came to power.
Something lost in the prices/affordability convo is that dismantling regulators shifts a financial burden onto consumers. They’re at much greater risk from various forms of fraud and less likely to comparison shop because of the likelihood that an unfamiliar product will be dangerous or defective

In the midst of all that we are facing, I want us to think about who we are being told to look to for understanding in this moment, who is being propped up as the voice of wisdom, and ask how right were they in predicting this, a year ago, 5, 8 years ago, and then ask why they are being centered now

Now is the time for a discharge petition for a House Bill banning gerrymandering nationwide. It will get at least 5 GOP votes from CA.
BREAKING: Californians have signed off on Gov. Gavin Newsom's redistricting counterpunch against Trump— aimed at offsetting a GOP push to gerrymander congressional maps.

After the Discharge Petition for the Epstein Files is passed, the House can start another one to ban gerrymandering and dare the Senate to filibuster it. It should get the votes of at least 5 CA GOP House members.
