From one of my favourite books of this year -Luke Kennard – Notes on the Sonnets

A reimagining of Shakespeare’s sonnets set in a joyless house party. It is sharp, witty, and at times unsettling

We have all been to parties like these, and sometimes wish we hadn’t

"But the cobalt' they scream "wont somebody think of the children"

Ignoring that cobalt is used in petrol refining, never removed and burned in normal use so we all breath it in

And the majority of EV batteries no longer use cobalt

Please remind me again what the recycle rate for fossil fuels is

3/3 Drug deaths are six times higher in the poorest areas. It’s a public health emergency – and politicians need to treat it like one.

1/3 Men in the poorest areas die 7 to 8 years earlier than those in richer communities. That’s a disgrace. No one should die early because of where they live.

Fentanyl. Drug Overdoses, including Fentanyl, are not even in the top 20 causes of death in the USA. Cancer, Diabetes, Covid, Heart Disease all in the top 10, and all have had their research funding cut. They aren't murdering just Venezuelans. However they are killing us much slower.
