Great analysis by my colleague @julianasuess.bsky.social on EU space policy - both for the challenges and opportunities in the area itself, and as a case study on what is needed on the path to reduce dependencies on the US for core strategic capabilities:
Weltraumfähigkeit: Die Abhängigkeit von den USA ist groß. Um europäische Autonomie zu schaffen, sollten Fähigkeiten wie Weltraumlageerfassung, militärische Aufklärung oder Raketenfrühwarnung priorisiert werden, so @julianasuess.bsky.social www.swp-berlin.org/publikation/...

The Koralm Tunnel officially opens today, which is a direct link between Graz and Klagenfurt & should speed up travel across southern Austria. It has been 34 years in the making & should reduce travel time from nearly 3 hours to just 41 minutes. 🥰 🚅#Koralmbahn #Koralmtunnel tv.orf.at/stories/2512...

I wonder how many swivel-eyed loons on X would lose their shit to find out that Channel 4 once broadcasted a great TV programme called “Trans World Sport”, and doubly so after realising that it’s got nothing to do with sexuality. It was top viewing in the 90s, and allegedly still exists as a format!

Much has been done on weapons supply and sanctions. But it hasn’t been enough. We need to be bolder, eg by supplying more long range missiles incl Tomahawks, and faster in negotiating access for UK defence industry to the EU’s SAFE programme. Oil sanctions are not being implemented effectively 2/6

This is exciting. I was expecting to add maybe 4 or 5 titles to my list. But there are loads (see responses). We're seeing a renaissance of proper local journalism, not among the big companies, which mostly remain dire, but among independent publications founded by local people.
Hope lies here ⬇️
Advice please: what are the new local journalism outlets sticking it to power? I'm thinking of publications like the Bristol Cable, Inside Croydon and West Country Voices. Which others should be on the list? Thanks.

When was the last time the Greens (with four MPs) or the Lib Dems (with 72) were given the same?
