Everyone should read this. And anyone who is non stop hysterical posting/catastrophizing online should read it twice
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Periodic reminder:

You're going to see a lot of bills introduced this Congress, some of which will not pass/and are showboating for the sake of showboating.

I really want to encourage everyone to go to govtrack.us to check the score, before putting forward calls to action.

New, from me: Muskawamy's plans for federal government employees, sorting out fact from fiction.
Bottom-line: mass firings are unlikely, some proposals are real, but likely to worsen state capacity.
Making the government a toxic employer is bad for the rest of us.

We could treat violations as the actions of bad people, and blame them as a result.

Or we could treat violations as an indicator to better design systems so they don’t necessitate those violations, and include functions that support workers when they are forced to work around flawed systems.
