When harmful items are restricted in secure wards, people may turn to headbanging as self-injury 😔

This 5-year study of 421 patients found headbanging was most common in younger females with EUPD.

Most incidents were rated as low harm, but the study doesn't explore why it happens.

From 1 Jan 2026, convicted people in Denmark can no longer get public welfare while in forensic mental health care.

This risks weakening treatment-based crime prevention and may deter patients from seeking help for fear of losing their benefits.
