Chindesaurus bryansmalli, a basal predatory dinosaur from the Late Triassic of Arizona. Its holotype, a partial postcranial skeleton, was nicknamed "Gertie". Chindesaurus was classified as herrerasaurid, but recent analyzes recovered it as Tawa hallae relative.

Just in time for spooky season: DINOSAUR "MUMMIES!"

Unlike Egyptian mummies, these don't have squishy bits preserved, but the rock around these carcasses had clay capturing texture of scales, a midline crest w/ keratin spikes, &, brand new, feet w/ hooves! 🧪⚒️🦕🦖

Just a fun picture of the juvenile T rex maxillae I helped excavated back during fieldwork with KU in 2017. The left maxilla has almost all the teeth still in their sockets!

Coolest part about the site was how it preserved the mega flora well enough for me to reconstruct the forest!

Here's a T. Rex bored to death trying to bite their own tail. My partner asked me to animate it in stop motion, after she watched a video about the very important topic of "could T. Rex chew its own tail like a dog". The puppet is still a work in progress 🦖

Latest Cretaceous megaraptorid theropod dinosaur sheds light on megaraptoran evolution and palaeobiology - Nature Communications
Megaraptoran theropod dinosaur anatomy and evolution is unclear due to the fragmentary nature of most available fossils. Here the authors report a well-preserved, late surviving megaraptoran from Argentina that clarifies our understanding of the morphology of this group and potentially provides insights into its diet and feeding strategies.
