Have you noticed that this is especially true when it comes to feminist philosophy? People will complain that Butler is too difficult, incomprehensible even, and dismiss their work on that basis. Then they go back to talking about Wittgenstein as if his work isn’t considerably more difficult.
Fascinated with the difference between how people (men in particular) reverently approach difficult and dense philosophical texts, unless they were written from the 1960s onwards, for some reason.
