An in-depth article showing the problems faced by me and my neighbours and the web of organisations passing responsibility.
Steve Reed should find out what the @greenparty.org.uk's policies are before calling them 'wacky'.

He was flummoxed by this question about what private landlords bring to society other than the redistribution of wealth in the wrong direction. #abolishLandlords

Spent a rewarding hour last night helping collect signatures for a petition to get TfL to take over the Greenwich and Woolwich lifts, which are sadly neglected by the local council. All the people we met were so happy that someone was trying to do something about it.

When a journalist was punished for protecting a source, the ECHR stepped in. It ruled that a free press must be able to expose wrongdoing without fear. The ECHR defends accountability, and losing it would weaken the public’s right to know the truth.

Ouch. Might have been better to unscrew the cycle bollards before commencing work at Mile End Junction. Reversing heavy machinery over them risks damaging the bollards and their foundations. If they are left damaged, I hope TfL/LBTH sends Thames Water the bill for the repairs.

Let's just take a moment to reflect on the self-sacrifice and hope this person embodies - not the evil, hateful monsters thirsting for violence.

If true (and unfortunately you do have to caveat the Times under its current editorship), then this looks very much like a fraud against the people. apple.news/AsRgaQ_nBRl6...

It’s more than two years since Eastend Homes’ disastrous attempt to build flats on our flats resulted in our homes being flooded. Our homes are still being ruined. We still haven’t an explanation for how this meets building regulations. It’s like nothing was learned from #RonanPoint or #Grenfell.

Khan is one of my ward’s councillors, and she has been conspicuously absent from my neighbours’ and my dispute with Eastend Homes. Mile End ward has long been neglected. The ward needs our councillors to be committed to fighting for our community.

Labour should enact its party policy and implement electoral reform. The majority of the UK want progressive politics, but we could end up with an extremist right-wing government elected on a minority under FPTP.
Westminster Voting Intention:

RFM: 32% (=)
GRN: 17% (+2)
CON: 16% (-1)
LAB: 16% (=)

AWS went down and then Azure went down. I'm going to host things with Rick Astley, because he will never let me down.

I should probably write something more long-form, but my experience cycling to Amsterdam was so much less stressful than I thought it’d be. Only sketchy bit was working out how to get between the station and the ferry with a bike in Harwich.

I'm starting to believe that the biggest issue with right wing reactionaries is a terminal lack of imagination.

I think Greater Anglia trains have the easiest-to-use bike storage. Four bikes can be stored here, and there’s no struggling to get them to hang vertically in an awkward cupboard like on Hitachi trains.

Being a member of @greenparty.org.uk, I had thought the race for Labour Deputy Leader was other people’s problem. However, unfortunately, I discovered my @utaw.tech / @cwunews.bsky.social membership entitles me to a vote, and now I have some responsibility. Any tips for a least worst choice?

The Greenwich and Woolwich foot tunnels really need sorting out. They are maintained as an afterthought by the local authority rather than a vital transport link. @london.gov.uk needs to take these over and make them fit for purpose. c.org/VPSyzLXfsN

Another Sunday afternoon in PPE, salvaging possessions from my flat. More than two years later, there’s still water coming in, and we still don’t know how any of this meets building regulations or how the structure has been affected by being wet for so long.
