“For Arsenal fans, it’s normal to play in the Champions League.

For us, it’s special.”

A piece from Arsenal’s away end, where the Kazakhstani diaspora came together to celebrate Khairat Almaty’s Champions League sign-off.

In with Kairat’s Kazakhstani diaspora against Arsenal: ‘This is the biggest thing in our history’
Arsenal's Champions League game against Kairat was technically a dead rubber - but not for the 2,000 away supporters at the Emirates

I’m done taking the bait regarding whatever narrative Sky want to set. But I’ll end with this:
Liverpool come to the emirates later this season without Salah. And I’ll be very curious to see how many times that’s brought up ahead of (and after) that match.

You’re saying that in hindsight. You’re forgetting we went 22 games without losing to any of the top 6. Both teams were cagey.
I would rather have gone for it and lost than what we did today.

Liverpool 1 (0.3)-(0.4) 0 Arsenal

It feels like this is going to have narrative overload and lots of second guessing but I don't think I have any of that here. Ran out a bit of energy at the end but on balance a bit better and I leave feeling positive about the team.

FT: Really disappointing to lose that way. Think Arsenal played well in the first half but lost their grip on things, and we weren't efficient enough in the final third when we had chances.

Liverpool created nothing but someone whacked the ball top bins from 30 yards. That's how it goes.

And it's Thomas Partey. Again. At faul for both PSG goals.

Get. Him. Gone.

Had a tooth extraction and it doesn’t even hurt as much as this does. I love this Arsenal team more than I have loved a lot of things in this life. I just want them to experience success

Bukayo Saka has 10 goals and six assists in just 18 Champions League appearances for Arsenal.

We need only go back to some of the things people were saying in February once Havertz got hurt. Arsenal not only played well enough to win, they attacked well in this tie. A couple of pretty lucky breaks (shin and deflection) change the entire narrative.

Paris Saint Germain 2 (1.9)-(2.7) 1 Arsenal

I am disappointed in the result but proud of the team. They exceeded what I thought was possible when the team was decimated with injury in the winter. Fine margins between glory and defeat at the highest levels.

Wow
Expected Goals over the two games:

Arsenal 4.77
PSG 2.90 (including a penalty)
What was the xG over both legs please?

My brother in christ, we have not had a fully fit striker for 4 months, how Artera even had me dreaming of a CL semi or a final win is insane.

Arsenal with 3.14 Expected Goals tonight, Really gave it a go but this match summed up the season. If you don't take your chances you can't win games.

if you're angry about a transfer eight days after your club won the premier league, that seems like a you problem tbh

Also, I can't really say much given I wasn't at the Emirates today but there was a lack of energy in the crowd today.

Not good enough on and off the pitch.
