“EVERY ADMINISTRATION LEAVES ITS MARK on the US military…But this past year will be remembered for something different: an erosion of the professional, legal, and ethical guardrails that have guided, protected, and enhanced America’s armed forces for generations.”

Hardly new or surprising at this point, but it's still so crazy how the US president goes to bat for Russia, aping the Russian government's propaganda, lying to the world on a Russian dictator's behalf, and trying to help Russian military aggression succeed against a US-partnered European democracy.
Trump: "Russia wants to see Ukraine succeed. It sounds a little strange but President Putin was very generous in his feeling toward Ukraine succeeding, including supplying energy, electricity and other things at very low prices."

“The Court got a very big one right—in ways that will almost certainly make it more difficult, as it should be, for the Trump administration to attempt to militarize domestic law enforcement based on dubious factual predicates.”

199. Four Takeaways From the National Guard Ruling
A deep dive into last Tuesday's ruling in which a 6-3 majority of the Court stopped the Trump administration from deploying federalized National Guard troops into and around Chicago.

Trump has no idea how outrageous or disqualifying his statement that Putin wants what’s best for Ukraine is or will sound to anyone with a shred of knowledge about the situation.

Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

The media outrage that would have been generated if Joe Biden was slapping marble armrests on seats at the Kennedy Center - less than 2 weeks after his cronies added his name to the building - while Americans are struggling to put food on the table would have been measured on the Richter scale.

Trump claims that "[t]he Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans." If that is true, why is it that all Democrats want complete transparency while certain Republicans--with Trump as their leader--want DOJ to release "NO MORE" files?

Since when do the innocent hide evidence?

JD Vance argues that having Muslims makes the UK and France too dangerous to have nukes, which will be great for US relations with India and Pakistan.

So if you’re keeping track, the Trump administration’s position on nuclear arms is:
North Korea: cool, nonthreatening
France and UK: bad, dangerous
A case where the quote is even worse in context than out of context. JD is scaremongering about “Islamists” winning elections in the UK/France and then somehow militarily threatening the US. Saying we should hold Europeans and Africans to different moral standards but anti-wokely.

US President is an obviously disturbed person (beyond corrupt, uninformed, authoritarian, incompetent). Everyone around the world knows this, except many Americans, because Corporate Media *sanewashes* him.

Theres a foolish impulse by legacy media that if & when they cover most stories, it’s simply time to move on. Trump’s ceaseless corruption, criminality, cognitive decline & compulsive, narcissistic hatred gets glossed over in the process. I for one won’t move on until he’s gone & held accountable.
How are these fits of presidential incontinence never covered as their own news events in NYT? Hours of sick hateful bile from the curdled joyless leader of the Christian nationalists sitting in the ruins of the tinsel trimmed White House he’s demolishing — seems like a story to me.

NBC News actually published this: "While Trump’s peace plan appears to be holding, albeit with regular Israeli airstrikes, the crisis endures."

Just imagine NBC framing it this way if Hamas engaged in "regular strikes against Israel?"

This is how legacy media normalizes genocide & white supremacy.

When Trump rants about "free speech," what he really means is that he wants to censor anyone who points out his lies.

European (and others) who publish factual information about hate groups to counteract their propaganda are being banned from entering the USA.

In the US, he is attacking news orgs.
