Program for funding unusual research failed to write any grants because it's attracted only weird applications not passing the filters
Science not having enough impact? Just focus on high impact research. Should be easy

Wow, what a damage, my data may be used to train and create helpful algorithm and an app. Alternatively, we need to bombard every user with 100500 requests for every useless piece of data, make them all opt out of that and get nothing at the end. But ethically.
Dr. Raju Gottumukkala discusses poor AI consent and privacy design treats people as data sources to be extracted. A diabetes app user may agree to a 40-page document, unaware their data is shared and retained indefinitely. This exploits vulnerable users, as consent is not truly voluntary. #AMIA2025

This is how we'll define bullshit work without offending anyone: if some process turns out to mostly "writing BS after reading BS generated just for that" we know we can cut it in totality without losing anything.
An LLM generated paper has been submitted multiple times and one of the submissions has 2x rating "8" and fortunately a 0. It was desk-rejected from ICLR.

More info is available and searchable but I don't want to shame the authors publicly. But yes, this is very wrong! Also having multiple 8s !!

I wonder if ultra rich wealth even matters. They say "there is infinite amount of cash at the federal reserve" and in some sense this is true. Same with ultra rich: can you even reasonably deploy your billions? How does that really affect poor who are lacking very basic stuff? Can't eat equity.
why has nobody bothered to ask the hard questions that matter??

like, how can we appear to address income inequality while actually shifting even more wealth to the ultra rich?

By the end of the week they will have to unscrew the head and there will still be people insisting that there is a dwarf sitting inside the torso and controlling the robot because "no way they are this advanced if they were it would be giant leap in capabilities and they obviously unable to do so"

well, that's impressively useless search results. Why do I even need Google to find the same site over and over and over again?

> NOTHING is as simple, requires fewer dependencies, and just works as well as C/C++. NOTHING. Stop with this Rust garbage.

C++ is simple, no problems with dependencies and just works? Statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged.

I have seen a lot of bullshit date formatting (hello US MM/DD/YYYY) but this is the first times I have seen YYYY-DD-MM in the wild, lol. Hello Intel, are you ok?

maybe I'm too easily impressionable but damn new minimax m2 model is impressive. 10b active parameters? Damn, it feels really smart and fast. Gave it a task "do a research about %corpname% and make a report" and it spent whole hour researching and crafting a website fully on its own.

I don't get how teachers skipping useful tool back in the day justifies not teaching useful tool these days.
You know what tool existed when I was in high school that no one ever taught me how to use? Excel. A thing I use all the time now, mostly self-taught, existed in the late 1990s and no one was upending the curriculum to make sure I knew how to use it.

On one hand, Deep Research and similar tools made me very knowledgeable about operation I'm going to undergo, on the other hand, they made me question the operation I'm going to undergo: will my team be aware of all that stuff? Did they read the latest review published two days ago?

Once swearing is a symbol of high class it will become symbol of low class and back
Cursing is rarely a symbol of low class. It's often a mark of high authenticity.

Evidence: Swearing predicts higher rates of honesty and integrity. It signals a willingness to prize candor over courtesy.

A little profanity can show that you're being real and you do give a damn.

idk why, but I hate watched the whole thing.

My only thought is that it is unfair to dunk on Microsoft for not protecting their kernel after they were stopped from doing so by anti-monopolist bullshit from EU

Hey, now I realize why Youtube disabled fullscreen scrolling recently. They were preparing for another useless redesign. Yay, now everything moved slightly and scrolling shows recommended videos to hook you more. Sigh...

Great idea
I really really want there to be a world where IP blocks just come with Rust crates, and integrators can click together crates in some coherent way like they do ip blocks.

It would be a fun HDL + Rust + Packaging demo to pitch to silicon vendors :D

That would be a hilarious outcome
Imagining a setting that was supposed to be a cyberpunk dystopia but the AI put in charge likes liberal capitalism much better the technological feudalism, because the AI has read everything and knows feudalism is bad for profitability.

I also enjoy my TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not iterable in production (or when users encounter it)
And no other programming language can match Python in code clarity and readability.

Except English, maybe.

That acronym is used by like one deranged person (or maybe by small cluster of deranged persons), why even give it any recognition?
Imma be real with you guys the "TESCREAL" stuff is basically the libleft version of rightist paranoia over "Cultural Marxism", where you just smash together a half-dozen things that annoy you and go "these things are all connected and being pushed by a nefarious secret cabal of my political enemies"
