Maybe it's just misery of being cut open and sewn back though and there is really no better way to provide this service and no amount of letting to experiment with users will help.

Why I'm shaking and sweating in my unit post-op when 8sleep can control temp in realtime and ventilated chairs and a norm in many cars? Imagine trying to make that medical product, I guess.

what would be a quick a/b test in tech. Because of course, users should have ethically concented to be tested on which shade of color better represents heart icon on a ECG app or something 😅 so that we get all the ugly beige official "medtech" and users using totally not medical watches, chatgpt etc

I'm kinda mostly on a side of corporations there, they basically never did really wrong things to me, yeah, they drip money bit by bit, but they have to be creative and make some value in exchange. Sometimes a lot of value. "medical" stuff is so stiffled by all the rules that it takes ages to get...

Extra funny with the next tweet: we already make 35k decisions daily, let's make it 350k for basically worse result in the end.

Dr. Tsai leads a talk about the rationality and irrationality of human decisions, starting with the average human makes 35k decisions per day (both rational and irrational). What happens to our decisions when AI is introduced. #AMIA2025 #MLSky

Yeah, there are numbers, but these are BofA estimates and hard to say what do they really mean by Ai spend without seeing the original report. But fair, there is govt financing of AI efforts.

It’s hard to say if these went anywhere after announcement. Have you heard anything about France advances in AI since that post? Or even news about money being actually deployed?
November 8, 2025 at 4:18 AM
Yeah, but opportunity costs…
November 8, 2025 at 3:36 AM
Doesn’t seem so, the only source of such claims is usually something like “of course they are, how else could they win so much?”
November 8, 2025 at 3:31 AM
I heard that’s why a lot of stuff blocked from existing by unemployed/retired Karens have all the time and desire to insert themselves into all these processes no matter how low stakes and drawn out they are.

I know but were these people at Google deciding what to include in the TPUs? I don't think so, that's why I'm surprised

I didn't realize that they carried useless fp64 in their chips for so long
November 7, 2025 at 9:16 AM
Traditional supercomputers were the same GPU clusters for some time just used in fp64 and for "traditional" HPC tasks (increasingly sliding into being simulated with neural networks though)

Sometimes it takes a couple refreshes, idk if related to the number of blocklists or just random

I love to compare with energy required to take a shower. And beyond that just plain indoors heating has insane energy consumption usually.

> the network is missing a most essential ingredient of capitalism: salespeople.

We have salespeople in the network now but are we happier, haha
