Damn, finally got caught by the Windows 11 update I’ve been dodging for so long. Laptop just forced a restart with no warning. Time to learn about all the unwanted AI features that will need to be disabled.

Beyond insane that a government official can act so childish and suffer no consequences. It will take years to build back from this, if we get the chance at all.
Anyone who treats violence perpetrated by the state as a joke should be nowhere near decisions regarding the use of force.

Finally gave in to my curiosity and got one of the 40K Joytoy figures. Smaller than I was expecting, but pretty cool overall.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Republicans love to accuse people of leeching off the government. The truth is that they are the parasites eating away at our country. They’ll strip our government for parts if it means enriching themselves.
“The Department of Homeland Security spent $220M but has kept at least one beneficiary of the nine-figure ad deal a secret, records and interviews show: a Republican consulting firm with long-standing personal and business ties to Kristi Noem and her senior aides at DHS.”
Firm Tied to Kristi Noem Secretly Got Money From $220 Million DHS Ad Contracts
The company is run by the husband of Noem’s chief DHS spokesperson and has personal and business ties to Noem and her aides. DHS invoked the “emergency” at the border to skirt competitive bidding rule...

Hi. It's election day.

From this election worker who will happily work a 17-hour day today so that you can have the opportunity:

Please go vote.

And remember, your local municipal and county races are arguably the most important ones. They affect what you deal with every day.

Kind of pissed. One of my favorite records of Alpine Symphony seems to randomly have several of the tracks unavailable to stream. Have run into this issue multiple times on Spotify and for some reason I think classical music is particularly prone to it. Annoying as hell.

Reminds me of that scene in Strange New Worlds where the Romulans blow up one of their own ships and the Praetor is like, “Now we are stronger.”

I think we should feel genuinely insulted if there are people and companies that will confidently proclaim this kind of garbage is the way of the future. AI slop is disgusting and more importantly, wasteful. And yet they’re so committed to shoveling it down our throats.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.
