Genuinely, even if you have anxiety about the idea of it, block people AGGRESSIVELY if they're spouting horrible shit.
They will 100% use as many bad faith arguments as possible to try to get you to engage. Don't. You owe them nothing, and any and all interaction only helps them spread like cancer.

Luke Smiths dev blog about how you had to be there for Ahn Qiraj becoming the focus for Destiny 2's development going forward read then and reads now like absolute drivel. He's so focused on how he got to open the gates that he forgets about the 99% of players who didn't.
I think there needs to be a greater analysis of the role that FOMO provides in an MMO space. On one hand, missing out on something super sweet feels like shit, on the other, I love seeing someone with something easily identifiable that says "that person did cool shit"(ex: the "hand of a'dal" title)
